Our trajectory

2024

ISA CTEEP (TRPL4) preferential shares join the Ibovespa portfolio

For the first time since our concession was renewed, our preferential shares (TRPL4) have joined the new portfolio of the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Ibovespa). The section is the main Brazilian exchange rate (B3), calculated based on the performance of the largest publicly traded companies and is, currently composed of 84 companies in 28 sectors.

For the second year in a row, we have been listed on the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE), of the B3

The corporate sustainability index (ISE) recognizes publicly traded companies with best sustainability practices.

2023

A year of many challenges and lessons learnt for all of us

In 2023, we persevered in building our legacy, which goes far beyond the mere transmission of energy. We met all our sustainable development commitments, which take into consideration society, the environment, our employees, partners and shareholders. Watch the video and celebrate our new victories with us.

We modernized the Baixada Santista – Tijuca Preto Transmission Lines in Serra do Mar (SP)

We reconstructed the 345kV Baixada Santista – Tijuca Preto C3 transmission lines in Serra do Mar between Santo André and Cubatão (SP). With this initiative, we have renovated 9.6 km of transmission lines and reconstructed 22 transmission towers, by applying innovative strategies, such as the intensive use of helicopters to carry out civil works, from the erection of towers to the installation of the cables.

We were the big winners in the second largest auction in the history of the Brazilian transmission sector

The main news is that we are the big winner. Other companies also won lots and are therefore also winners.

We won lots 1 (Serra Dourado Project), 7 (Itatiaia Project) and 9 (Agua Vermelha Project). With this achievement we have expanded our presence in Minas Gerais - the producer of 1/5 of Brazilian photovoltaic production – Bahia, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, transmitting enormous quantities solar and wind generated energy to large consumer centers in the South and Southwest region of the country.

We launched the first 4.0 digital substation for the Brazilian transmission system.

Installed in the Jaguariúna Substation (SP) the project meets new demands in the electrical sector to improve integration of renewable sources, increase the resilience of the network and accelerate energy transition. This means greater safety and reliability in meeting society's needs.

We achieved the Carbon Neutral certificate

Our controlling company, ISA, obtained the Carbon Neutral certificate from the Colombian Institute for Technical Norms and Certification (ICONTEC), in scopes 1 and 2 (operation and maintenance of assets, excluding technical losses) for its 11 companies, including ISA CTEEP.

We joined the portfolio for Corporate Sustainability (ISE) of B3

For the first time we have started to make up part of the ISE of B3, which brings together companies with best practices for the evaluation of risk and opportunities in ESG (Environment, Social and Governance).

2022

Start of the operation of the first energy battery storage project on a large scale in the Brazilian transmission system.

The first project of energy battery storage on a large scale in the Brazilian transmission system has started operations at the Registro (SP) substation. This project benefits approximately 2 million people and plays an important role as a laboratory in the sector.

We concluded the Biguaçu Electrical Integration, the only project in the country with aerial, underwater and underground transmission lines.

This enterprise is a pioneer in Brazil as it is the only one to include transmission lines stretching overhead, undersea and underground and guarantees greater security and reliability for the supply of electrical energy for the Florianopolis metropolitan region.

2021

We set up the first digital substation in the national integrated system (SIN), in Lorena (SP).

This is a new notion in the electrical sector aiming at the concept of a substation 4.0, which involves applying digital systems with the use of technology, such as “big data” and fiber optic connections.

The project reinforces our commitment to innovation and decarbonization of the energy matrix.

We joined the Corporate Pact for Integrity and Anti-Corruption

By joining, this underlines our commitment to ethics, broadening the ESG agenda (environment, social and governance). We have also become a part of the Corporate Movement for Integrity, Transparency and Anti-corruption of the Ethos Institute, highly regarded in Brazil for integrity, human rights, the environment and sustainable governance.

2019

It’s been 20 years since we were founded

For the last two decades, our company has operated a complex transmission network, through which 25% of all electrical energy produced in Brazil travels, 60% of the electricity used in the southeast of the country and almost 100% in the state of São Paulo.

We announced the first Brazilian project of the Jaguar Connection

The Jaguar Connection (Conexão Jaguar) aims to preserve biodiversity; the mitigation of climate change through the implementation of forest projects in those areas deemed priority for protection, recovery and connection of the jaguars’ habitats and territories, as well as the development of the nearby communities.

2018

We launch our first proposal and ISA Strategy 2030: V.I.D.A

Our vision of growth with sustainability over the long term exists in four dimensions: Green (Verde), Innovation (inovação), Development (Desenvolvimento) and Articulation (Articulação) , creating the acronym in portuguese V.I.D.A.

2017

We launch our new ISA CTEEP brand

The new brand represents the essence of our work, which is to create connections, connect to people and search for solutions for those questions that affect the whole of society, looking to leave behind a legacy of care for the planet and sustainable development.

2016

It’s been 10 years since ISA acquired the controlling interest in ISA CTEEP

In 2006, ISA won the privatisation auction of CTEEP, gaining 50, 10% of ordinary shares issued in the company, becoming the new controlling shareholder.

2012

We extended out main concession contract for a further 30 years

We were able to extend the company’s main concession contract with the National Agency of Electrical Energy (ANEEL), starting a further 30 year concession providing energy transmission services in the state of São Paulo.

2008

The Madeira Electrical Interconnection transmission line comes into operation

This is the largest DC (direct current) transmission line in Brazil, extending over 2,300 km. The enterprise is part of the River Madeira hydroelectric complex and its transmission system was conceived and implanted with direct current technology, used to transmit large outputs over long distance. In Brazil, up to that time, this technology had only been used in the transmission of energy produced by the Itaipu power plant.

2007

We win the auction for the lot that connects the states of Tocantins, Maranhão and Piauí

ISA increases its participation in ISA CTEEP

ISA’s holding in ISA CTEEP jumps to 89.4% of ordinary shares and 37.5% of total capital

2006-1999

From CTEEP to ISA CTEEP

In 2006, in the public auction set up by the São Paulo state government on the São Paulo Stock Exchange, CTEEP was privatized, and ISA gains the controlling interest, with 50.1% of ordinary shares (with voting rights).

CTEEP – The Paulista Electrical Energy Transmission Company (Companhia de Transmissão de Energia Elétrica Paulista) was set up in 1999, when it started operations transmitting electrical energy as a public service concession holder.

In June, 2001, it took over the Empresa Paulista de Transmissão de Energia Elétrica S.A. (EPTE) and signed the Concession Contract for Electric Energy Transmission No. 059/01 with the Union, with the aim of granting a concession for the public service electricity transmission, lasting until 2042.
