O projeto foi arrematado no lote 9 do Leilão de Transmissão nº 01/23.

Água Vermelha is a district in the interior of São Paulo state, where we have our Água Vermelha substation and the Água Vermelha Hydroelectric Plant, operated by AES Tietê.
In 2009, a project for Reinforcements and Improvements was carried out, including the installation of a 500 kV reactor bank (with a capacity of 200 Mvar). This allowed for better voltage control in the northwest region of São Paulo, improving the energy interchange between the states of Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, and São Paulo.
