Conexión Jaguar

The Conexión Jaguar program, coordinated by ISA, is our main platform for enhancing biodiversity conservation. Aiming to contribute to the protection of jaguars in Latin America, it seeks to safeguard forests by providing technical and financial support for the development of conservation and restoration projects in partnership with local stakeholders.

Expansion in Brazil

Here in Brazil, the Conexão Jaguar program works to protect the jaguar, the largest feline in the Americas, which plays a crucial ecological role in maintaining ecosystem balance. In partnership with the Instituto Homem Pantaneiro, it contributes to the protection of biodiversity in the Pantanal, one of the Brazilian biomes most threatened by deforestation.

The strategy is to accelerate the mapping of areas relevant to biodiversity conservation. To achieve this, the program supports projects that compensate for the natural carbon stock maintained in these regions.qui no Brasil, o Conexão Jaguar atua na proteção da onça-pintada, o maior felino das Américas, que desempenha um papel ecológico fundamental para o equilíbrio ecossistêmico.

Serra do Amolar, Corumbá (MS)

An area of 135,000 hectares in Serra do Amolar, Corumbá (MS), has been certified for the issuance of REDD+ carbon credits (voluntary market). The region managed by IHP forms an important biological corridor for the jaguar and hundreds of other species of mammals, birds, and reptiles. The certification granted by Verra, an independent non-profit organization, allows for the issuance and commercialization of 231,000 CO2 credits in the international market, with the potential to prevent approximately 430,000 tCO2e emissions by 2030.

International visibility reinforces our commitment

  • COP 28 - Dubai (United Arab Emirates)
We signed a memorandum of understanding with the state government of São Paulo. The goal is to identify strategic areas for developing projects focused on biodiversity conservation and the creation of ecological corridors. The protocol is valid for 12 months.
  • Amazon Summit
The project was highlighted at the international event held in Belém (PA) in 2023, during the panel on binational ecological corridors and the voluntary carbon market.

Jaguar Parade

The Jaguar Parade is an urban art intervention that features works by local and national artists in an open-air exhibition. This initiative highlights our commitment to biodiversity and the protection of jaguars, which are endangered. The fourth edition of the Jaguar Parade took place in Florianópolis (SC) in 2023. A total of 50 sculptures were displayed, with 28 created by artists invited by our company. After the event, the sculptures are auctioned, and the proceeds are donated to partner NGOs that support the cause.
